Harold Green

Harold W. Green, 88, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at home on his family property, Thursday, July 3, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born January 22, 1926 in Denver, Colorado to the late Walter and Agnes (O’Donnell) Green. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Gunners Mate. He was an avid Outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing and was a lover of nature altogether. He was a devoted and hardworking family man, beloved and respected by all who knew him. He retired from Pratt & Whitney after 35 years of dedicated service.He is survived by his sons; Robert Green of Louden, TN and William Green and his wife Rose of Coventry; his daughter Joyce Willing and her husband Edward of Glastonbury; his brother Donald Green; his sister Dorothy Anderson of Belchertown, MA; his daughter in law Lynn Green of Coventry; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and especially his Great Kitty Laverne. He was predeceased by his sons Michael C. and Richard A. Green; his brothers James and Walter Green and his sister Donna Mae Kuhn. Relatives and friends may join the family from 4 – 7 pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at The Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Tpk, Coventry (rt.44). A Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church, Coventry. Burial with full military honors will follow at Center Cemetery, Coventry.
