Catherine Cressman Obituary

Catherine “Kitty” Cressman, 88, of Third Street in East Greenville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 30, 2014. Kitty was the wife of the late Eugene L. Cressman who died in 2004. Born on July 16, 1925 in Emmaus, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Janenko) Kotch. She attended Emmaus Schools and left for East Greenville with her husband Gene in 1947. She was a valued member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church (then in East Greenville). Along with their children, they cleaned the church and the parish school for many years. She loved cooking and baking for her family. Holidays were especially delicious. Church and friends fondly remember her famous church breakfast “funny cakes” and infamous marble chiffon birthday cakes. But, her most rewarding past time was time spent around family dining tables, lined with her children and grandchildren playing any kind of games suggested. Many an evening of playing games was spent making memories we will always have of “Queenie”. Watching the great grandbabies playing always brought great joy to her heart. Survivors: Kitty will be sadly missed by her children, Thomas Cressman (Diane), of Quakertown, PA, Louise Bartlett (Ray), of Millville, PA, JoAnna Stauffer (Michael Wetzel), of East Greenville, Juliana Mohr (Scott), of Pennsburg; Grandchildren: Gene Bartlett (Andrea), Jodi Sileo (Michael), Candice Ditzel (Tobias), Brad Stauffer, Lindsay Rothermel (Mark), Braden Cressman, Kristen Weinsteiger (Philip), and Andrew Cressman; Great Grandchildren: Brady and Lauren Sileo, Joshua Bartlett, Macy Ditzel, Mason Weinsteiger, and Drew Rothermel; and her loving sister Johanna Kotch Green, of Emmaus. She was predeceased by a brother Stephen Kotch and a sister Helen Semancik. Services: All are invited to a viewing from 9-10:30 am on Thursday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main St., Pennsburg. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Klinerd Rd., Pennsburg. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Contributions: St. Philip Neri Building Fund, 1325 Klinerd Rd., Pennsburg, PA 18073. Please visit her “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.
