Avanell Vaughn, 86, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Brookridge Care Nursing Center in Morrilton. She was born September 5, 1927, in Hector, daughter of the late Ben and Nora Butts Gray. She was a wonderful mother and friend to all. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; 4 sisters, Irene Hudson, Corene Mackey, Ruth Pruitt and June Danson; and a brother, John Gray. She is survived by 2 brothers, Raymond Gray and Doyle Gray; daughter, Rita Kay and husband Bob Ridling of Morrilton; 3 sons, Johnny Vaughn of Russellville, Larry Vaughn of Ft. Smith, and Jerry and wife Susie Vaughn of Dover; 4 grandchildren, Charlie Bewley, Bobbie Kay Ridling, Jason Vaughn and Jordan Vaughn; and 3 great-grandchildren, Grayson Vaughn, Audrey Bewley and Sophie Crabb. Graveside service and burial will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 28 at Hudson Cemetery with Rev. Howard Wheeler officiating. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, June 27 at Lemley Chapel. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Pallbearers are Charlie Bewley, Jason Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Bob Ridling and Rex Tyler.
