Dorothy C. Dando

<p>Dorothy Dando, at the young age of 91, of Pulaski, PA was called to Heaven the morning of June 22nd, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Born on April 10, 1923 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Blue White. On December 12th, 1945, she married her beloved husband, Arthur L. Dando, and the two spent over 52 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on June 7, 1998. </p><p><br></p><p>Early on, Dorothy showed compassion and was a caregiver to her family and friends. She was cherished and admired for her faith, strength, and generous heart. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church where she served as Deaconess and as a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord. Her numerous activities included President of Senior Citizens, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, CCC Auxiliary, and Wimodausis. As a member of the Snappy Dragon Garden Club, she could be found tending to her colorful flowers and canning. She enjoyed Lake Erie camping trips and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dorothy forever touched and honored all that knew her. Her graciousness taught kindness, love, and always a reason to be thankful. </p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her children, Larry (Linda) Dando, Helen (Joe) DePinto, Paul Dando, and daughter-in-law Luann Dando; grandchildren, Gene Dando, Beth Donegan, Jenn Coulter, Lori Sainato, Kelly Hess, Billie Patrick, Lisa Aiello, Robert Dando, Scott Larch, and Heather Gollan; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Dando; daughter-in-law, Teri Dando; brother, Walter White; and sister, Virginia Gould. </p><p><br></p><p>Calling hours in her honor will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30pm at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Bill Stone, pastor of Neshannock Presbyterian Church of New Wilmington. </p><p><br></p><p>Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.</p>
