Irvin Saltsman

Irvin D. “Junior” Saltsman, Jr., 70 of Pine Glen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home. Born on May 8, 1944, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Irvin D. and Margaret Musselman Saltsman, Sr. On May 26, 2001, in Snow Shoe, he married Margaret L. Moore, who survives at home. Junior graduated in 1962 from West Branch High School. He was a self-employed truck driver. After retiring from driving, he opened Saltsman’s Used Cars Lot in Karthaus, retiring after several years of operation. He was of the protestant faith. Junior is survived by his wife, four sons; Doug and his wife, Sherry, of LeContes Mills, Todd and his wife, Shannon, of Woodland, and Rodney and his companion, Permilla, of West Decatur, 10 grandchildren; Ryan, Andrew, Bobbi Sue, Kimberly, Jona, Lauren, Gage, Anthony, Shayne, and Brittany, and five great grandchildren, Oswin, Aydon, Jaden, Shaylin, and Austin. He is also survived by one step daughter, Nannette German of Snow Shoe, one step son, John German of Denver, PA, and one sister, Sharon Inman and her husband, Paul, of Kansas, one nephew, Brandon Inman, one niece, Jessica Inman, one grand nephew, Zen Inman, two grand neices, Rayonnah Inman & Raelynn Inman, and many friends. Along with his parents, Junior was preceded in death by one son, John Saltsman, one step daughter, Kimberly German, and one sister, Nancy McGill. Graveside services will be on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11am at the Oak Hill Cemetery, in Karthaus with Pastor Catherine W. Dittman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Oak Hill Cemetery Association, C/O Claire Potter, 114 Haggerty St. St. Marys, PA 15857. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore ST. Snow Shoe.
