Marilyn “Mickey” Dorothy Greene, age 91, of Milford, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 in Milford Hospital. She was born on February 5, 1923 in Bridgeport to the late William and Mary Schmidt Duchene. Proudly serving in the US Marine during WWII, she was dedicated to the military and became a member of the American Legion Post #196 in Milford, served as Past Post Auxiliary President of VFW Post 7788 of Devon, a member of the Marine Corp League in Stratford and the Women’s Marine Corp Assoc. Before retiring, she was employed as a Supervisor for Schick Safety Razor. Mrs. Greene is survived by her loving daughter Marilyn Peetz Deptula and her husband James of Milford, grandchildren Debbie Lasky (Rick), Patty Fallon (Pat) and Kelly Deicicchi (Tony) and great grandchildren Matthew Lasky, Avery Lasky, Patrick Fallon Jr., Brendan Fallon, Brady Fallon, Ashley Decicchi and Anthony Decicchi Jr. and brother William Duchene of Tennessee. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her devoted husband George F. Greene and grandson Scott Charles Deptula. Calling hours are Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 17th at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post #196, (for overseas care packages for soldiers), c/o Marilyn Deptula, 32 Long Beach Ave., Milford, CT 06460.
