We the family of Mary Eleanor Himmelman (Walters) 86, are deeply saddened to have to announce her passing on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Born in Lunenburg on October 29, 1927, she was the daughter of Milton Roderick and Grace Amanda Walters. Mary was predeceased by both parents, husband, Charles, sister, Frances, brother-in-law, John Murray and son, Peter as well as many uncles and aunts. Mary is survived by daughters, Donna Burris (Gordon), Bedford; Darlene, Halifax; Heather (Carl) England, Petite Riviere and Susan, Bridgewater; sons, Kevin, Lunenburg; Danny (Theresa), Bayport and Robert, Halifax. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Michael, Katherine, Nathan, Alex, Christina, Jagger, Hailey and Faith, along with many loyal friends and extended family members. Mary was a hairdresser trained at Normie’s Beauty Shop and worked a few years as a part-time hairdresser at Harbour View Haven Nursing Home. Mary loved flowers especially her favorites, african violets and geraniums. Funeral Arrangements were under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, where a private family service was held Monday, May 26, 2014. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery with family flowers only.
