Sara Cool

Sara Melvina Simmons Cool, 90, of Worthington, went to join the love of her life, Orval D. Cool, on April 18, 2014. They were married on March 27, 1946. She passed from this life at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gilmer County on August 22, 1923 a daughter of the late Willie and Ina Richards Simmons. She formerly worked at the Palace Restaurant in Fairmont before she married and became a homemaker. She enjoyed working in the garden, canning, and helping her husband with the cattle that they lovingly raised and named as members of their family. She was loved by everyone who she became acquainted with. She also enjoyed reading, singing, listening to music, and watching the family horses out in the pasture behind her home. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her LORD JESUS most of all and attending the Everson Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother to, Ronnie and Terri Weekly, Bingamon, She is survived by her grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Weekly, Cheyenne Willie, great-grandchildren, Carter and Mason Weekly and Coal Willie, her sister, Pearl Heiney, Glenville, brothers, Earl Simmons and his wife Mary, Cleveland, OH, Bearl Simmons and his wife Billie, Cecil Simmons and his wife Jackie, all of Eastlake, OH, Henry Simmons, Mentor, OH, 2 special nieces and several other nieces and nephews who she loved so much and cared deeply about. She was also preceded in death by five infant siblings, Nettie, Mettie, Elodene, Earestine, and Orval Simmons, three sisters, Erma Kline, Ruby McHenry and Sandra Louise Spence, and one brother, Eugene Simmons. Friends may call at he Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Monday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, April 22, with Pastor Robert Tennant officiating. Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at United Hospital Center for the exceptional care of this lovely lady.
