It is with great sadness that Elio’s family shares the news of his passing, in Richmond Hill, on April 15, 2014 at the age of 82. Elio was the beloved husband and best friend to Lidia for 51 years. Cherished father to Loretta (Kevin) and Loris (Annette). Doting “Nonno” to Kayla, Sean, Stefan and Alyssa. Elio was born on January 18, 1932 to the late Guglielmo and Desolina (Quattrin) in Zoppola, in the Friuli Region of Italy. He is survived by his sister Fiorina (Eligio) and predeceased by brothers Pietro and Tarcisio (Maria). Loving uncle to Daniella (Primo), Marlene (Donato), Sandy (Jack), Ron, Luigina, Pieri (Manuella), Mario (Marion) and Randy (Penny). Elio will also be greatly missed by his extended family and extensive network of friends too many to mention. Elio was always the first to inspire, encourage and praise those who were fortunate enough to have met him. A selfless and honourable man, he always put the needs of family and friends in front of his own. With all that he was able to accomplish over the years, Elio’s proudest achievements were as a Husband, Papa, Nonno and Loyal Friend. He leaves behind a strong family that will always remember the many life lessons he has taught us. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Monday, April 21 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill. Mass on Tuesday, April 22 11:00 am at St.Mary Immaculate Parish, 10295 Yonge St., Richmond Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “The Orthopedic Wing (4th Floor North)” of Mackenzie Health Hospital.
