Daniel Wallenmeyer 81, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Hawk Ridge in Hood River. Daniel was born April 28, 1932 in Evansville, Indiana to William A. and Mindie (Madden) Wallenmeyer. Daniel grew up in Evansville graduating from the local high school in 1949, after graduation he joined the Air Force and served 4 years as a Crew Chief in the armory during the Korean War. He then continued his education at Washington State earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture in 1959. During Daniels career life he worked for the State of Oregon retiring after 28 years. He married Patricia Fisher July 18th, 1954 in Vancouver, Washington. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, his career and most of all was devoted to his family. He was a member of the NRA and Lutheran Church. Daniel is survived and will be dearly missed by his spouse just shy of 60 years Patricia, his four children. Jesse Daniel and his spouse Roxie of Beaverton, Oregon, Lewis Todd and his spouse Crystal of Las Vegas, Nevada, Patricia Loreen McClelland and her spouse Steve of Cove, Oregon, Susan Louise Bowdish and her spouse Dean of Goldendale, Washington. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother George Wallenmeyer. Memorials are encouraged to be made in Daniel’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
