Joyce Arlene Tuinstra, age 71, passed away at Tendercare of Ludington, on April 10, 2014, after an extended illness. Joyce was born in Ludington on February 22, 1943, the daughter of the late Andrew R. & Janet Frances (Ryskamp) Tuinstra. Joyce was born with a disability that created many challenges throughout her life, but, she was a true fighter and met those challenges with determination, overcoming many of them. When diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, she handled it with the same determination and fight! Joyce had a passion for animals and though she never had a dog of her own, she spent many afternoons volunteering to walk her neighbor's dog. She was also a dedicated Tiger's fan, in her younger years, keeping track of the stats for every player! In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by two brothers: Reverend Gerald Jay Tuinstra and Lester Nelson Tuinstra. She is survived by her sister-n law, Thelma Barker of Holland, several nieces and nephews. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
