Ross James Martin, 46, of Nolan’s Run, Lumberport, passed away, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Wood County due to a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Akron, OH, August 3, 1967, a son of Michael W. Martin, Nolan’s Run, and the late Ethel Mae Cummings Martin. Surviving are five children, Brianna Welsh, Clarksburg, Rossalyn Martin, Clarksburg, Kelly Martin, Birch River, Trish Blaney, Preston County, Johnny Thomas, Clarksburg, Vanessa Griffin, Johnny Blaney, Marky Blaney, Gavin Greynolds, Alyssa White, Taylor White, three brothers, Michael Martin and his wife Kim, Lumberport, Ryan Martin and his wife Donna, Erie, Brent Martin, Lumberport, two sisters, Vanessa Brosius and her husband Charlie, Jane Lew, Mandy Mulligan and her husband Paul, Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Ross was also preceded in death by one son, Ross James Martin, Jr., his paternal grandparents, Ross and Nellie Martin, and maternal grandparents, James and Virginia Cummings. Ross was a 1986 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was the co-owner of Tate’s Service Station and was employed as a truck driver for Taylor Trucking and Dozer Service, Jane Lew. He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. He was a devoted Father and loving brother and son who lived life to the fullest. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 12-8pm, Saturday and 12-8pm, Sunday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, April 14, with Pastor Delores White officiating.
