Aline Marie Magella Fournier Obituary

FOURNIER: ALINE MARIE MAJELLA (nee CHOUINARD) Aug. 28, 1929 - Apr. 6, 2014 Aline Magella Marie Fournier was born at home on August 28,1929 in Tourville, Quebec to Wilfrid and Anna Chouinard. She was the second youngest of eight children. Aline married Laurent Fournier in Tourville on June 10, 1950 and settled on the Fournier homestead. She met the challenges of being away from friends and family and learning a new language. Together they had five children: Lorraine, Maurice, Gisele, Charles and Simone. Aline was a quiet, gentle person with a great sense of humour. She kept very busy as a homemaker and raising five children. Aline cooked for many hired men over the years and dealt with a lot of challenges. She made several trips to Quebec to visit her parents and siblings over the years. Aline had lots of stories to tell and came home with many wonderful memories. She enjoyed playing many card games (her favourite pass time) until all hours of the night. Aline often came home played out, but very happy. In 1987, Aline moved to Arborfield, where she got to know her new neighbours. In November of 2006, she moved to Zenon Park where she had a larger place and an extra room for family. Aline enjoyed her time there making some new, very good friends. In October of 2012, she made another move to Caleb Village in Tisdale. Aline made many more new friends and enjoyed puzzles and playing cards. She had a wonderful year there! Sadly in September of 2013, Aline was diagnosed with lung cancer. On January 24, 2014 she moved to Manitou Lodge in Watrous and then to Lanigan Hospital on February 25, 2014. There she lost her brave battle with cancer on April 6, 2014. Aline was predeceased by: her husband Laurent; her parents: Wilfrid and Anna Chouinard; her siblings: Lucienne (Lionel) Dube; Louis-Marie (Madeleine) Chouinard; Simone (Gerard Fournier) (Delphis) Leclerc; Germaine (Jean) Vaillancourt; Clement Chouinard; Jeannine (Albert) Pelletier and Guy Chouinard; her mother and father-in-law: Therese and Joseph Fournier; brother-in-law Roger Fournier and sister-in-law Madeleine (Louis) Relland; and grandson: Tyler Chatfield. Aline will be lovingly remembered by her children: Lorraine (Stan) and family: daughter-in-law Angie (son Wyatt), Ryan, Byron (Jessica) (son Liam); Maurice (Sheryl); Gisele (Terence) and family: Jarret (daughter Nevaeh), Blake; Charles; Simone (Darvin) and family: Josh and Sianna; sisters-in-law: Lucille Gagnon; Isabelle Thibault; Jeanne (Phil) Noonan; Marguerite (Raymond) Mirandou; and numerous nieces and nephews.
