Carl E. (Frank) Barton

<p>Carl E. (Frank) Barton, 85, of Shenango Township passed away the morning of April 4, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born in New Castle on October 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Harry and Marie Smith Barton. Surviving him at home is his beloved wife of over 60 years, the former Ardyth Cochran. </p><p><br></p><p>After 30 years, Carl retired from his job as Head of Maintenance for Shenango Elementary School, and he also drove school bus for Shenango School District. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Warren was a devoted member of Savannah United Methodist Church, belonging to the church choir and their Over 55 Club. He also enjoyed playing golf, making crafts, and puzzles, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his children, Wesley Barton and wife Chris of New Castle, David Barton and wife Carole of Richmond, VA, and Robert Barton and wife Sandy of Anchorage, AL, Jerilynne Kuczynski and husband John of New Castle, and Kathy Porada of New Castle; sisters, Tillie Mitchell, Barbara Barton, and Nancy Bintrim, all of New Castle; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Harry Barton. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held Sunday at 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at 7:45pm Sunday at the funeral home. </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00am at Savannah United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Laura Puleo. </p><p><br></p><p>Interment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens.</p>
