William L. Golladay, Jr. (Bill, Jr.), 87, of Winchester, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Golladay was born August 2, 1926 in Winchester; the son of William L. Golladay, Sr. and Gladys Deeds Golladay. He was a graduate of Stephens City High School in 1944. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He founded Bill & Bill’s Auto Service, Inc. with his father in 1953. The family business has continued for over 60 years and continues today. He was a member of Centenary Reformed United Church of Christ for over 60 years where he served as Deacon, Consistory President, taught Sunday School, was a member of the Choir and Handbell Choir and served on the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Blue Ridge Twirlers Square Dance Club and the Automotive Service Association of Virginia. He married Charlotte Grandstaff on August 20, 1949 in Winchester. Mrs. Golladay preceded him in death on December 18, 2007. Bill and his wife were avid travelers having traveled to all 50 states. His favorite retirement past time was fellowship with his friends at McDonald’s. He is survived by twin sons, Terry L. Golladay and his wife, Nancy of Frederick County and Gerry L. Golladay, Sr. and his wife, Debbie of Stephens City; a sister, Mary Catherine Ebert of Locust Grove, VA; three grandchildren, Gerry Lee Golladay, Jr., Danielle L. Jones, Mark L. Golladay; two great grandchildren, Eric Bryce Golladay and Benjanmin Tyler Golladay; and two step great grandchildren, Maddy Jones and Carson Jones. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. Kelly M. Sisson officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
