John Halpenny Obituary

John Calvin Halpenny, 75, of Enterprise, passed away at 11:34pm, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Fairmont General Hospital. He was born in Joetown, March 29, 1939 a son of the late Charles Edward and Lenora Mae Templeton Halpenny. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Shingleton Halpenny whom he married October 6, 1962, two sons, Richard Lee Halpenny and his wife Jane, Fairmont, Michael Todd Halpenny and his wife Lisa, Fairmont, four grandchildren, Jimmy Halpenny and his wife Samantha, Barrickville, Jonathon Halpenny, Christopher Halpenny, Emilee Halpenny, all of Fairmont, one brother, James Halpenny and his wife Pam, Lumberport, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Halpenny. John was a coal miner having retired from Consol Energy, Robinson Run Mine, with 34 years service. The family would like to thank the staff of Genesis of Pierpont, Fairmont, for their wonderful care of John and a special thanks to Stacey, Cheryl Becky, Grandma, and Dr. Menez. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Wednesday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday with Pastor Chris Shingleton officiating.
