Steven Tennison

Steven Earl Tennison, 57, passed away in Arlington, Texas on March 25, 2014.He was born in Denton, Texas on July 21, 1956 to his father Forest Edwin Tennison and mother Georgia Marie Morse. Steven attended Midland Lee High School and Midland College. Steven worked in television, beginning with KMID-TV in Midland. He then moved to Dallas as a freelancer in sports television, and over the next 30 years, he became adroit as a highly dependable and top notch replay operator and was "first call" by all the major TV networks, as well as other networks. In addition to regular games in football, basketball, baseball and ice hockey; he helped televise two Super Bowls; three Olympic Games; numerous NBA All Star weeks and games. After each Thanksgiving Day football game, Steve would ask permission to take the "Multi- legged" turkey from John Madden and Pat Summrall to those less fortunate and they were happy to give it to him. Steven is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Marie Crues; his brothers, Kenneth Tennison, Ronald Tennison; his father, Forest Edwin Tennison; and numerous members of the Tennison and Morse families. He is survived by nieces and nephew, Angela Tennison Garringer, Ernie Lee Tennison, and Catherine Page Tennison. He is also survived by step brothers Glen Tennison and wife Amy, Riley Christian and wife Darlene, Jackie Christian and wife Brenda and his step father Bobby J. Crues. A memorial service is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 4000 West Loop 250 North, with Reverend David Huxley officiating. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 400 West Loop 250 North.
