Wayne Turner

Wayne E. Turner, 70 , of Coventry died on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford the son of Bertil and Elizabeth (Smith) Turner. He lived in Manchester until he was married in 1966. In 1968 he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was employed as a computer operator in Hartford before becoming a Supervisor at Lydall, Inc. in Manchester. He was an officer in the Coventry Police Department for 14 years and more recently for the Mansfield Police Department for 25 years. He had a love and concern for his country, the welfare of people, and for all animals especially his cats and dogs. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Cherly Turner, Donna Turner & Gregg Sedlik, Donald Turner and his wife, Shelia; his grandchildren Johnathan Turner, Michael Heckler, Steven Turner and Asacia Horton; his sister Shirley Turner- Otten and husband , Robert and their daughter Deanna; his very favorite aunt, Jean Ravalli; his cousins John and Charlie Ravalli and families. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4-6pm with a 6pm funeral home service at Coventry – Pietras Funeral Home2665 Boston Turnpike (RT44) Coventry, CT 06238. Burial will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Coventry, CT. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Wayne’s name to the Bolton Veterinary Hospital, 222 Boston Turnpike Bolton, CT. 06043.
