St.Clair Schnare Obituary

Surrounded by his family and close friends, St. Clair Paul Schnare, (Rabbit) 65, of Riverport, made his final journey on Monday, November 18, 2013, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. He was the son of the late Paul and Marion (Tanner) Schnare. At a very early age, Rabbit decided he wanted to make his living on the sea and fished out of Riverport, followed later by Adams and Knickle, Lunenburg. When scallop fishing downsized, he found himself doing other things. He delivered boats, which took him half way around the world and took part in the recovery efforts of the Swiss Air Disaster. In later years he enjoyed telling so many stories of his adventures. St. Clair is survived by his long- time partner and soul mate, Doris Creaser, Riverport; daughters, Diane (Philip) Hebb; Midville Branch, Denise (Daniel) Fancy; Camperdown, step-son, Christiean (Shelly) Creaser; Western Shore, step-daughter, Stacey (Kevin) Farmer; Walden, six grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, sister, Janet Cook; Bridgewater, step-brothers, Albert and Jerome Bond; both of Ottawa, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step-brothers Cedric and Russell Bond. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a time of remembrance will be held on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A private committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
