William Joseph Chapman “Billy Joe” It is with heavy hearts that we his family announce the passing of Bill Chapman,66, of First South, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle on October 18, 2013 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, after a hard battle with cancer. Born in Harbour Breton, Fortune Bay, Nfld. he was the son of the late William Chapman Sr. and Ernestine (Kelly) Chapman. Bill spent fifty years of his life as a hardworking fisherman, and presently employed with Ocean Choice International, Riverport. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Lunenburg for which he was dedicated and enjoyed very much. He brought a smile to everyone’s face that he met and had a heart of gold to go with it. Bill leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Audrey (Skinner) Chapman, daughter, Rhonda Chapman and son, Craig and daughter in-law Cynthia, loving grandson, Riley; brothers, Dan (Florence) Pat (Debbie), Ike, Sam (Natalie), Leo (Sheila); sisters, Sarah “Sis (Tom), Marg (Bernard), Delia (Gerald), Sandra (Peter) , several brothers and sisters in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg where the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Lunenburg, will hold a legion tribute on Monday at 6:45 followed by visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass for Bill will be celebrated Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg, Rev. James MacDonald, OMI, officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, the Poppy Fund of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 23, Lunenburg or to a charity of your choice. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
