Willie J. Watson, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Born on January 14, 1917 in Kite, GA, he was the son of the late William and Ida Nasworthy-Watson. Growing up in a rural part of Georgia, Willie was naturally a hard working boy, helping with day to day operations on the family farm. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during WWII. Following his honorable service, Willie owned/operated an automotive service station in Bartow, FL until he became a logistics supervisor for Bartow Air Base. In 1957, he relocated to Melbourne, FL and later retired from Lockheed Martin after 40 years of service as a logistics supervisor.
Willie is survived by his son, Charles Watson; daughter-in-law, Jane Watson; grandson, Michael (Elizabeth) Watson; and his great-granddaughter, Melissa Watson.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years, Margaret and his son, Howard.
Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Davis- Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee, FL on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2 p.m.
