William G. Ogden, 81, of Manchester, husband of the late Mary “Mickey” (Hyman) Ogden, to whom he was married for 55 years, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. Bill was born in Hartford, CT on April 5, 1931, son of the late Rudolph and Ellen (Anderson) Ogden. He was raised in Hartford and had been a resident of Manchester for over fifty years. He served in the US Army and prior to retiring he had been a driver and member of Teamsters Local 671 of Hartford for 37 years and Treasurer of the Teamsters Local 671 retirees. He was a huge Patriots and Red Sox fan and an avid golfer. Bill is survived by three sons, Craig T. Ogden of Manchester, Douglas W. Ogden of Leeds, MA, and
Christopher J. Ogden and his wife Susan J. Ogden of Vernon; two daughters, Tracie Witkowski of Vernon and Lisa Saucier and his son-in-law, Geno Gomez of Vernon, three grandchildren, Lindsay Witkowski, Brittney Saucier and Kayla Ogden, a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh White, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Lynn Hyman, his niece and two nephews, Shannon Hyman, Brett Hyman and Larry Flynn, and his best friend and neighbor, Samuel Harrison. A special thanks to his cardiologist Dr. Danny Korkmas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24th, at 10:00 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery, Manchester. Visiting hours are Tuesday, Oct. 23rd, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
