Louis Frank Sclafani

<p>Louis Sclafani, 61 died on August 26, 2012 at home after a long illness, with his family by his side. Born in Carmel, NY on June 6, 1951, he was eldest son of the late Frank Sclafani and Rosalie (Frontiero) Sclafani. He was a graduate of Carmel High School and earned an Associates Degree from North Shore Community College, in Massachusetts. He was a hard working entrepreneur with an inquisitive nature, boundless energy, and determined spirit. In 1980, he opened Sclafani Petroleum in Pawling, NY and later moved the business to Mahopac, NY which he owned and operated up until his illness.</p><p><br></p><p>Louis loved to spend time with his grandchildren, go on adventures, play chess, and have good conversation. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by two daughters, Roseann L. Luongo and her husband Wade, Melissa G. Calabro and her husband Bernard; grandchildren, Gavin and Nolan Luongo, Victoria, Elizabeth and Bernard, Jr. Calabro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bridget and Brian Fish, Maria and Jeffrey Delaney; two brothers and sister-in-law Jerome D. and Maureen Sclafani, and Francisco Sclafani; former wife and the mother of his children, Helen Sclafani; his friend, Denise Placek, who was by his side throughout his illness; also lovingly survived by many caring cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.</p><p>In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Charlene A. Sclafani. </p><p><br></p><p>Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, New York. Beginning at 10:45 a.m., a Celebration of Life will be held, during which relatives &amp; friends may share stories and reflections in Louis’ memory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Saint Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, New York.</p><p>Memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, P.O.
