Carl Stenberg

Carl I. Stenberg KANE Carl I. Stenberg, 58, of 687 Six Mile Road, Tiona, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (July 21, 2012) at Kane Community Hospital. Born January 30, 1954, in Warren, he was a son of Irvin and Violet Manross Stenberg. Mr. Stenberg served aboard the USS Oklahoma City and was an electrician in the Navy. He was employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. A lifetime member of the Sheffield Veterans Club and the Sheffield Rod and Gun Club, he was also was very involved with the Boy Scouts where he served as a leader for fourteen years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and his camp in Wetmore and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Michael C. Stenberg and Mitchell I. Stenberg, both of Warren; a daughter, Lisa Mitchell of Daytona, FL; a brother, Alan Stenberg of Sheffield; two sisters, Karen (Tim) Johnson of Mt. Jewett and Diane (Tom) Clark of Cherry Grove; three grandchildren; his former wife, Diane Warner of Warren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc where a funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday with the Rev. Donald Costlow, pastor of the Ludlow/Sheffield Lutheran Churches, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
