Obituary:

Cpl Goudie, W. Jonathan was a proud soldier of the Canadian Forces. He served with 3 PPCLI out of Edmonton. His distinguished service in Afghanistan was a notable highpoint in his career. He often remarked he wanted to do something memorable in his life. Jonathan lived as he died, “larger than life”.

As a child Jonathan enjoyed playing hockey, basketball, and many other sports. Jonathan attended Windsor Pentecostal Church where he participated in Youth Ministries. Jonathan graduated from Exploits Valley High in Grand Falls-Windsor in 2008.

Recently, Jonathan was accepted in Memorial University of Newfoundland where he planned to study History and French. Jonathan intended to continue his military service as a reservist in St. John’s.

Jonathan is survived by his parents Lorne and Dawn Goudie, sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Andrew Blanchard, grandparents Job and Sylvia Goudie, Carl and Sylvia Collins and girlfriend Sarah Burton, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and military comrades and a large circle of friends.

Donations in his memory can be made to the YC Village of Hope, Malawi, Africa.
