Earl W. Northrup, of Route 16, Chaffee, died Monday May 14, 2012 in The Pines of Machias, New York at the age of 77. He was born November 26, 1934 in Arcade a son of the late Alden and Dorothy Owens Northrup. He owned and operated Earl’s Restaurant in Chaffee for 56 years. He loved country, bluegrass and gospel music, collected John Deere tractors, drove school bus for Holland Central School and was an active supporter of the Future Farmers of America. On June 24, 1955 in East Aurora he married his high school sweetheart – Marilyn (nee Rosenthal) Northrup. Mrs. Northrup died July 23, 2002. He is survived by a son: Audie (Janice) Northrup of Arcade; three grandchildren: Andrew (Nicole) Northrup of Lockport, Melissa Northrup of Arcade, Patrick (Amanda) Northrup of Delevan; a great-granddaughter: Phoebe Lynn Northrup; a brother: Charles “Ed” (Rose) Northrup of Warsaw; four sisters: Margaret (Matthew) Comstock of Hermitage, Alice Jeanne Mould of Delevan, Linda Harrington of Olean, Alberta Northrup of Perry; sisters-in-law: Collieen Northrup of Cheektowaga; Joanne Kemp of Castile and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son – David Earl Northrup who died in 1968, a sister: Aldena “Honey” Lee; two brothers: Donald Northrup and Walter Northrup and a brother-in-law: William Rosenthal, Jr. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
