Vondel Allen

Cheyenne, WY – The Lord's servant, Pastor Vondel M. Allen went home to Heaven on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. On the first day of Spring, he met his Savior in the land of eternal sunshine. He was born on July 25, 1944, in Castine, son of Merrill and Olga Allen. Vondel graduated from Bucksport High School in 1964 and from New Brunswick Bible Institute in 1967. He met his wife, Paula, while at New Brunswick Bible Institute. They shared the next forty-four years together serving the Lord, raising eight children, and touching the lives of many. His roles have included husband, father, brother, pastor, teacher, school administrator, AWANA leader, coach, champion of missions, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Paula, daughter, Kelly and her husband, Kevin Somers and their children, Riley, Lauren, and Jalon, of Sherman; son, Timothy and his wife, Dawn, and their children, Josiah, Caleb, Lydia, and Hannah of Lititz, PA; son, Jonathan and his wife, Gigi and their daughter, Brynn of Cheyenne, WY; son, David and wife, Priscilla and their children, Davin and Carly of Cheyenne, WY; daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Peter Quimby and their children, Caden, Millayna, and Landon, of Brooks; son, Benjamin of Portland, ME and his daughter, Addison, ; son, Peter and his wife, Sarah, of Cheyenne, WY; daughter, Janna and her fiance, Jordan, of Cheyenne, WY; brother, Joey of Lynchburg, VA. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 until services begin at 11AM, Saturday, March 31, at Evangel Baptist Church, 16 Central St., Bucksport. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, North Sedgwick, ME. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to either John and Ann Dowdy, c/o Child Evangelism Fellowship, P. O.
