Brenda Grimes (Snavely)

Brenda Louise (Snavely) Grimes, 52, of Burlington, KS died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, January 9, 2012. Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Jones Funeral Home, in Burlington, KS (620) 364-5319. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brenda Grimes Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. Brenda, the daughter of Ralph Paul and Marguerite Louise (Brown) Snavely, was born January 15, 1959, in Topeka, KS. She grew up in Gardner, KS and graduated from Gardner High School. Brenda then attended Washburn University. On May 17, 1986, she married Eldon L. Grimes at the United Methodist Church in Burlington. She had worked several years as a shift clerk for the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation. Brenda was a member of the United Methodist Church in Burlington. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family. Brenda will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Brenda is survived by her husband, Eldon, of the home; daughter Loretta Grimes of Burlington; her mother Louise Snavely of Gardner; two sisters: Lesa Soetaert of Gardner and Karla Gravenstein (Randy) of Olathe; brother Scott Snavely (Jacque) of Arkansas City; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
