Rose Marie Allison, 84, of Camp Hill, lost her courageous, 15-month battle with cancer and passed away on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence in Harrisburg. Born on Oct. 28, 1927 in Clearfield, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Murphy) Bachelier of Grampian, Pa., and the widow of James H. Allison, Jr. who passed away in 1962. Rose Marie graduated from Clearfield High School in 1945, and later attended and graduated from Thompson Business College in Harrisburg where she was an active member of Alpha Iota Sorority. She then worked as a secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Internal Affairs in Harrisburg. Rose Marie was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill. She was actively involved in her community, where she was a member of the Camp Hill Woman’s Club, the Camp Hill Historical Society, Camp Hill Republican Women, and the Camp Hill Election Board. She was also a census taker well into her late seventies, an avid gardener, an excellent cook and a friend to all. She retired in 1992 from the Camp Hill School District, where she had worked for several years. Rose Marie is survived by two sons, James H. Allison III, and his wife Cheri of Pittsfield, Mass., and William B. Allison and his wife Barbara of Millerstown, Pa.; a sister, Anne V. Kovall and her husband Stephen of Gettysburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Heather M. Allison of Los Angles, Calif., James H. Allison IV of Oakland, Calif., and Katie W. Allison of Millerstown, Pa.; a niece, Elizabeth Blake, and her husband Mark of Springfield, Va., and their three children, Shawn Blake of Charleston, S.C., and John Paul and Annie Blake, of Springfield, Va.; an aunt, Mary Rossi of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and a son-in-law, James Stasko. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Anne Stasko, who passed in 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 Trindle Rd., Camp Hill. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 29 at the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, with a Rosary service at 7:45 p.m. An additional viewing will be held in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Burial will be held following the mass in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 717 Market St., Suite 108, Lemoyne, Pa 17043.
