Shirley Newton O’Neal, 66, left us with her memories early Saturday morning November 5, 2011 with her family by her side. After a long battle with cancer she is now singing and dancing with all the angels as she has been re-united with her sisters, Dorothy and Betty; brothers, George Lee and Bobby and her wonderful parents, Grace and Thomas Newton. She is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and she was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn O’Neal; a daughter, Lorrie A. O’Neal; granddaughters, Lauren and Maria Meacher; brothers, Daniel and David Capps. Who will all greatly miss her. A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 691 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach with Pastor Chuck Moseley, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk with a reception following at her home at approximately 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
