Daniel Tifft

ARGYLE - Daniel R. Tifft, 23, of South Ranch Way, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident. Born on October 7, 1987 in Rutland, Vt., he was the son of Tammy (Jameson) Tifft and her companion, George Vonelm and Keith Tifft and his wife Cindy. Dan was a graduate of Argyle Central School and of Canton College of Technology. He worked as a Machinist for Fronhofer Tool in Cossayuna. Dan started his dream home, a log cabin, in high school and spent all his extra time working on it. He was an avid woodworker and loved building for family and friends. Dan was family oriented and was devoted to his son, Nicholas. He liked having family get togethers and from an early age was always there to offer his help to others. His family and friends have been a significant part of his life and he enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. Dan was predeceased by his maternal Great grandparents, Art and Irene Hempel, his father-in-law, Fred Frielinghaus, his cousins, Nathan "Nate Dawg" Martell and Ambrose Olson, his uncle, Tracy "Red" Jameson. On May 26, 2007 he married Kim Frielinghaus at the Lakeville Baptist Church, by the Rev. Sandra Spaulding. Survivors besides his wife and parents include his son, Nicholas Robert Tifft; his brothers and sisters, Devin Tifft and his wife Heather of Argyle, Dylan Tifft, Hubert Ruane, Brandan Tifft, Charlene Ruane and his special cousin, Natasha Martell; his Paternal Grandparents, Robert and Carol Tifft of Rupert, Vt., his mathernal grandparents, Ralph Jameson of Cossayuna and Theresa A. Hempel of Argyle; his maternal great-grandmother, Florence Cacella and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his best friend, cousin and Nicholas's godfather, Zachary Jameson and Nicholas's godmother, Janine Dougherty. Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Argyle. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Sandra Spaulding, pastor of the Lakeville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cossayuna Cemetery, head of the lake, Cossayuna. Donations may be made in his memory by helping the family complete his log cabin for his son, Nicholas.
