Grace Gladney Obituary

Gladney, Grace M. (nee Quigley), died peacefully at home on August 7, 2011. Born in Atlantic City in 1925, she attended Holy Spirit Elementary and High School, graduating in 1943. She also attended New Jersey College of Commerce. Grace worked during World War II at the Mays Landing Bomb Factory. She also worked at the South Jersey Gas Company. She moved to Florida in 1955 and married Robert Gladney. She worked as a bookkeeper in Ft. Lauderdale and Port St. Lucie, FL. Upon Robert's death, she returned home to the area in 1977 and lived in Somers Point. She was predeceased by her parents, John J. and Grace A. (nee Dougherty) Quigley; her brothers, Thomas, Edward and John; and her sisters, Margaret and Mary. Grace is survived by several nephews, including Michael Fitzgerald, Edward, John and Danny Quigley, and John Quigley, Jr. She is also survived by several nieces, including Kathleen Fitzgerald, Maureen McIntyre, and Delores Ann Lazaropoulos; and many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Nancy Fitzgerald and Dorothy Quigley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point. A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
