BRAY, J. D., 84, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Glen Ridge Health Campus, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Lafayette, TN to James A. & Estelle (Blankenship) Bray.
J.D. was retired from Ford Motor Co.-KTP after 32 years service. He was a longtime member of Shively Heights Baptist Church, and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 54 years, Elaine (Simmons) Bray; four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his children, Brenda Heuke (Phil), Randy (Cathy) and Bruce (Melissa) Bray; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a brother, Carl Bray.
A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Monday, 2 - 9 p.m. and 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Tuesday.
