Elaine Elliott passed away peacefully from her earthly home on October 11, 2010. She is now a resident of her new home in Heaven. Elaine was born in Dallas, TX on September 21, 1953 to George and Joan Elliott. She had a life filled with school and church activities, lessons in jazz, tap and ballet. She was a member of the drill team in her Junior High school years. Elaine and her parents moved to a suburb of St. Louis, MO where she attended her last two years of high school. She attended the University of Kansas and after graduation she moved back to Dallas and then returned to St. Louis due to health problems. Elaine was proud and independent and she and her parents worked through her grief. From then on, the three of them fought the frequent flare-ups of MS together. The family was transferred to Atlanta, GA and Elaine worked with them until the MS forced her to take disability retirement. They returned to St. Louis and after retirement in 1996, they moved to Van Alstyne, TX. Elaine was able to enjoy shopping, visits from friends and relatives, frequent trips to restaurants and her Sunday School Class and church until the last year of her life. She fought the declining bouts of MS with brave determination. She did not complain and was a ray of sunshine to all she encountered. She has now gone where there are no tears, no pain and no relentless diseases. Her passing left a hole in her parents’ hears that will not be filled. Elaine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne and Leah Elliott Chapter #1119, OES. Elaine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Reeves and Mr. and Mrs. William Elliott. Services will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Flesher Funeral Chapel with burial at Elliott Cemetery, west of Van Alstyne, TX. Family visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
