Canna Marie Burwell-Arnold was born November 20, 1920 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma to Hughy and Florence (Plumley) Smith. She passed from this life November 10, 2010 in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of 89.
Canna was a member of the Miller Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and quilting but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Canna was preceded in death by her husbands: Walter Burwell & Arvil Arnold; son: David Burwell; daughter: Relta Burwell; parents: Hughy & Florence Smith; brothers: Jay Smith, H. B. Smith, Hubert Smith, & Garland Smith; sisters: Della Cothran, Ova Blankenship, Doshie Smith, Cloe Smith, Dorothy Thompson, Naomi Reese, & Eva Smith; granddaughter: Beth Burwell; and a great grandson: Benjamin Smith.
She is survived by her sons: Bedford Burwell & wife Diana of Terrell, Texas, & Tommy Burwell & wife Sharon of Arlington, Texas; daughter-in-law: Pat Burwell of Antlers; daughters: Jo Ann Sliger & husband Otis of Texarkana, Texas, Judie Satterfield & husband Dwight of Antlers, Jane Wood & husband Wendell of Farris, Oklahoma, & Janice Cothran of Brenham, Texas; stepson: Winston Arnold of Farris, Oklahoma; stepdaughter: Lanora Arnold of Farris, Oklahoma; brother: Jack Smith of Ravia, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great granchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
