Mr. Paul Arnold Catterton, 53, of Catterton Lane, Yemassee, passed away suddenly while attending Sunday morning worship at Hardeeville Church of God, the same church his late father was the Senior Pastor of for thirty-three years.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Friday afternoon, March 25, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro, with The Reverend Bruce Fox, The Reverend Roger Smoak, and The Reverend David Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow on the family plot at Black Creek Baptist Churchyard, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro.
Mr. Catterton was born January 25, 1958, in Beaufort County and was a son of Mrs. Isabella Adams Catterton and the late Reverend Arnold Roosevelt Catterton. He was a painter by trade and was a member of Hardeeville Church of God. At his church, he was a church pianist, played the guitar, and on many occasions sang in the church.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Yemassee are: his wife, Mrs. Jacqueline Jackie Grimes Catterton; three sons, Paul Arnold Catterton of Batesburg, William Logan Catterton of Charleston, Richard Raymond Matthews and his wife Sharon of Rincon, Georgia; two daughters, Celia Elizabeth Hanurhan and her husband Brian who are stationed at Vesta, California and Tanya Michelle Truett and her husband Sam of Beaufort; two grandchildren, Raegan Catterton and Charlotte Hanurhan; his mother-in-law, Jenny Gaylord and her husband Clifford of Hardeeville; and a niece, Leslie Park of Yemassee; as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Hone; and a nephew, Jonathan Lomnick.
