Joyce Dickenson, 72, of Old State Rd., Morrisville, NY passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at her home.
She was born April 10, 1937 in Burlington Flats, NY, a daughter of the late Francis and Lucinda Dickenson Frazier, and received her education in Burlington Flats and Edmeston schools. She worked at Thermold Plastics in Manlius and had been a housekeeper. On August 31, 2004, Joyce married Harold Dick in Morrisville. Joyce was devoted to her family and enjoyed going to her grandchildrens many sports and activities. She had been a Cub Scout den mother and a willing volunteer for many community activities. She enjoyed bowling and reading, and expressed her love for family and friends through her wonderful baking.
Joyce was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisville and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Eatonbrook Rod and Gun Club; the Affiliated Club and the Morrisville Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Harold; her children, John and Linda Doroshenko of Bellingham, WA; Deborah and Samson Shay of Willow Springs, NC; Jerry Doroshenko of Erieville; Paul and Barbara Doroshenko of Morrisville; Lucinda and Michael Bartlett of Erieville; Trish and David Baten of Morrisville; James and Kim Doroshenko of NC; Penelope McKinstry of Morrisville; Christopher and Nichole Doroshenko of Morrisville; her former husband and his wife, John and Dorothy Doroshenko of Morrisville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marian and James Hynes of Morrisville: Ione and David Barney of Waterville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Orin and Beatrice Frazier of Waterville; Vincent and Gale Frazier of Tucson, AZ; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, an uncle and aunt, Calvin and Phyllis Dickenson of Waterville; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Shannon Doroshenko, a grandson, Paul Shay, and a son-in-law, Frank McKinstry.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday December 21, 2009 at St. Joan of Arc Church, Brookside Dr., Morrisville.
There will be no calling hours.
Interment will be in the Morrisville Cemetery in the spring.
