CHESAPEAKE Ernest Edward Perkins, Jr., 63, of the 900 block of Copper Stone Circle, passed away on June 10, 2009 in Chesapeake. A native of Louisville, KY, he was the son of Victoria Warley Perkins and the late Ernest E. Perkins, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired as a truck driver from Waste Industries.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Virginia Perkins; two daughters, Moriah Joy Fletcher and her husband, David, and Rachel Marie Perkins, all of Chesapeake; a son, Ernest E. Perkins, III of Warrenton, VA; a sister, Trudy D. Perkins of Altamont Springs, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Bible Believers Church, 2101 Iowa Street, Chesapeake, with Pastor Scott Osborne officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk.
