Services for Earl K. Blankenship, 89 years, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wade Hughes officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford County. Visitation for Mr. Blankenship will be at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
He passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Bradford Square Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
A native of Frankfort, he was born January 13, 1921 to Dennis and Annie Harrod Blankenship. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from General Electric/ Frankfort Plastic where he was a security guard. He was member of West Frankfort Church of God.
Mr. Blankenship is survived by his daughters, Brenda A. Ellis (Roger), Frankfort, Jane Jackson (Bob), Willisburg, Marlene Aldridge (Floyd), Frankfort; a brother, Harrison Blankenship, Versailles; a sister, Anna Belle Akins, Frankfort; grandchildren, Carl Ellis, Roger Ellis Jr., Sherry Quire, Jennifer Wash, Craig Tillett and granddaughter, Stephani Harvey, his caregiver; and a great grandson, Dustin Tillett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Frances Brewer Blankenship, a grandson, Jeff Jackson, four sisters and four brothers.
Bearers will be members of West Frankfort Church of God. Honorary bearers will be Roger Ellis Jr., Roger Ellis Sr., Carl Ellis, Bob Ross, Floyd Aldridge, Dustin Tillett and Craig Tillett.
