Wayne Nightingale

Millinocket – Wayne S. Nightingale, 58, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home. He was born December 7, 1957 in Island Falls, the son of Joseph and Hazel (Michaud) Nightingale. Wayne grew up in Millinocket, and was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1975. He worked at Great Northern Paper Company for many years until he retired. Wayne loved nature, and spending time in the woods - hunting, fishing, biking and cross country skiing were all favorite pastimes he could often be found enjoying. He had a great sense of humor, and will be remembered by his daughters for his many silly antics and special ability for making them laugh. He is survived by three daughters, Ashlie Nightingale, Misty Nightingale, and Hillary Goding; two special step daughters, Amber Theriault and Kristin O’Connell, and their mother, Mary Theriault; a brother, Leo Bossie; a sister, Julia Kunz; two very dear friends, Paul Staples and Jody Wasilauskis; the mother of his children, Jamie Nightingale; close cousins, Charlie and Kathy Michaud; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-8 P.M. Thursday, June 16 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Liturgy of the Word Service and Communion will be celebrated 10 A.M. Friday, June 17 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby Street, Millinocket, with Deacon Danny Watson officiating. Private interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Wayne may be sent to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
