Johnny Padgett

Johnny Ray Padgett, Sr., age 73, Unicoi, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He lived most of his life in Unicoi County. Johnny was preceded in death by both parents; an infant daughter, Tammy Faye and he passed away the same day as his granddaughter, Ashlie Padgett. He was a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church and attended Unicoi Freewill Baptist Church. Johnny was a manager at AutoZone for twenty years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, two sons: Johnny Padgett, Jr. and wife, Colleen of Gray, Charles Padgett and wife, Leslie of Unicoi; one daughter, Amy Lingerfelt and husband, Alan of Johnson City; one brother, Sam White and wife, Claire of Erwin; three grandsons: Josh Padgett, Austin Padgett and Ryan Lingerfelt; one granddaughter, Halie Padgett. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. until the hour of service on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Brett Jones will officiate at the 7:00 P. M. funeral. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Pallbearers will be Shawn Wilson, Josh Padgett, Austin Padgett, Jason White, Ryan Lingerfelt and Sam White. Committal service will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Friday in the Evergreen Cemetery. Minister, pallbearers, family and friends are asked to meet at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home by 9:30 A. M. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
