Ralph Glen Obituary

GLEN, RALPH DOUGLAS At the age of 86, Ralphie chose June 11, 2016 to say goodbye - sailpast day at Port Credit Yacht Club. He leaves his wife Eveline, children Kelly (Darko) and Roger, along with ‘the girls’, his granddaughters whom he adored – Rhiannon (David), Aysia (Carlos), Alethea (Alex) – and another generation, Tyanna, Kaleb and Scarlett. He also is survived by his brothers Donald (Dorothy) and Barry (Lillian) as well as nephew Bob and nieces Lisa, Susan, Donna, Carol, Tricia and Darlene. In 1967 Ralph and his partner, Jack Early, embarked on their business venture and steered Elvidge Paper Box successfully for thirty-five years. For over thirty of those years Ralph would arrive at the office in the morning after a session at his health club, which was highlighted by breakfast with a wonderful group of friends. Ralph was an avid skier in his younger years and a sailor almost all his life, both on Lake Ontario and in Vancouver during the few years he and Ev spent there. He later decided he also liked big ships and, beginning with QEII in 1979, began a love affair with cruising. His last cruise was cut short May 14 in Vancouver, when it was discovered that he had cancer. Cremation has taken place and friends and family will gather at a later date to share our memories of this beloved man. Ralph had a good life and enjoyed it.
