<p>Harold Robert Hansen, age 97 of Sherman Oaks Manor passed away on Friday June 10, 2016. Harold was born to John and Dagmar Hansen on November 21, 1918 at his parents’ home in Victory Township.</p><p><br></p><p>He attended Pelton school (a one room country school). Harold served in the Army Airforce from 1944-1946 during World War II.</p><p><br></p><p>On October 5, 1946 with Reverend Homer Kiracafe at the Church of the Brethren just south of Custer, Harold married Doris Mattox in a double wedding ceremony with Doris’ sister Hazel Mattox and Robert McKillop and together the four honeymooned up north to Traverse City and around the lake, taking the Carferry back to Ludington. They were married 59 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Harold and Doris built their home in Clarendon Hills, Illinois and lived there forty years. Upon retirement they moved back to Scottville.</p><p><br></p><p>Harold worked for Imperial Type Metal Company. When the company went out of business he then worked at Star Chemical Company, which he retired from in 1983.</p><p><br></p><p>Harold is survived by one brother; George Hansen, three sisters-in-law’s; Evelyn, Ireen and Beverly Hansen; special niece and nephew Carol and Glen Dolezal, as well as other numerous nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his wife; Doris in June of 2007, his parents, one sister; Mable, four brothers; Donald was a young boy, Charles, Leslie and Richard.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services for Harold will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00AM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington with Harold’s nephew Reverend John Hansen from Peace Lutheran Church officiating. The family will receive friend for visitation one hour prior to service beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery in Scottville.</p><p><br></p><p>In Lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made to the charity of choice or Peace Lutheran Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Please feel free to share a photo or memory with Harold’s family on his personal webpage at www.oakgrovefh.com.
