Leo J. Bennett, 77 of Preble, IN, died on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Adams Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Leo was born on April 19, 1939 in New Foundland, Canada to the late Patrick and Gertrude (Snow) Bennett. On May 18, 1962 he married Mary K. Marbaugh. Leo came to the United States from Canada in 1958 and was 1 of 13 children. Leo worked as a Machinist/Welder for Alliance Tool & Die in Ft. Wayne. Leo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary K. Bennett of Preble; son, Jeff (Kim) Bennett of Ossian; two daughters, Stacy Crabbs and Amy (Paul) Gunsett both of Decatur; a brother, Walter Bennett of Canada; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14th also at the funeral home with Rev. James Voorman officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Memorials are to Bellmont H.S. Wrestling or Bellmont H.S. Baseball.
