Eleanor Charlotte Gruhn of Waldoboro passed away on June 7, 2016 at Maine General Hospital in Augusta, Maine. Eleanor was born on October 7, 1925 in South Boston, daughter of Paul and Mary (Philben) Gruhn. She attended schools in Massachusetts as a child. She moved to Waldoboro in 1945 and spent the rest of her life there. Eleanor was a private person who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and watching television, especially Perry Mason. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Harold and Francis, and infant brother Richard. She is survived by her niece Mary Bixby (Joseph) of Oakland, Maine, nephew David Gruhn of Bristol, CT, nephew Frank Gruhn of Fairfield, Maine, cousin and best friend Doris Prock (Wallace) of Waldoboro, Maine, cousins Karon Reed (Arnold) of Jefferson, Maine, Wendy Northrup (Wayne) of Jefferson, Maine, Randy Prock (Cindy) of Union, Maine and Jean Winslow of Rockport, Maine. A graveside service will be held at the New Calvary Cemetery, 800 Harvard Street, in Mattapan, Massachusetts on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements.
