John J. Mason, “Honest John” of Palmetto Bay, FL, formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Florida. He was born on May 24, 1960 in Milford to Jack and Geraldine Mason. John was the owner of JSM Trucking Enterprises LLC. A beloved son, husband and father, he will be remembered for his devotion to animals, especially his dog “Emmy”, and his willingness to help others. Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife Susan Rimart Mason, brothers Michael “Chink” Mel of Milford and Richard Mason of West Haven, son Jay Mason of Derby, Geraldine’s partner Dominick Facin and his uncle Dennis and many cousins. He is predeceased by his sister Lynda Mason. All services are private and are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford.Obituary
