Lorraine Gibson

Lorraine Gibson, 65, entered into her eternal rest and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of Vineyard Columbus and a missionary to all. A memorial service in her honor will take place at Vineyard Columbus East Campus (located at 333 Jericho Road; Pickerington, OH) Pastor Charles Montgomery officiating, on Saturday, May 28, 2016. The family will receive friends at 10am until the time of the service. Caliman’s Funeral Services will be handling the funeral arrangements. Lorraine was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio to David and Pauline Kerner Higgs on June 6, 1950. She went to Central High School and graduated in 1968. She went on to join the Marine Corps where she served faithfully for five years. Lorraine worked as a human resources specialist for the Defense Supply Construction Center (DSCC) for thirty-six years until she retired in October of 2014. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, David and Pauline Kerner, her youngest sister Bernadine Kerner Gore and her niece Denia Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband Lance Gibson of 38 years, her daughters Shelly Kerner, Heather Gibson and Donya (Kevin) Gilmore, her step-son Emery (Yolanda) Turner; her grandchildren Langston Kerner, Peyton and Camron Turner and Madison Gibson; her sisters Phyllis (Albert) Diggs and Brenda (George) Sanders, her brother David (Sharon) Kerner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
