Allen “Tinker” Dean Brave, “Canku Ole Hoksila” was born on January 24, 1968 in Pine Ridge, SD to Marvin J. Brave, Sr. and Fidelia F. Swift Bird-Brave. Allen passed away on May 18, 2016 in Minneapolis, MN. Allen is survived by his son, David Waters of Wounded Knee, SD; daughter, Katcheri Lynn Waters of Wounded Knee, SD; brothers, Marvin Brave, Jr. and Albert Brave, Jr. both of Pine Ridge, SD, Donald “Zondo” Brave and Renfred Good Lance both of Oglala, SD; sisters, Mona Brave, Lori Bagola, and Dana Chase all of Oglala, SD; 2 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin, Sr. and Fidelia Brave; siblings, Tara Lynn Long and John Wayne Brave; grandparents, Francis and Clara Swift Bird and Wilson and Rebecca Brave; and nephew, Marvin Brave III.
