Jazlyn Short

Jazlyn “Jazie” Short, age 5, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (May 17, 2016) in Niswonger Childrens’ Hospital, Johnson City, Tennessee. Born September 1, 2010 in Bluefield, West Virginia, she is the daughter of Roxie Short. She was preceded in death by one brother, Adam Short, and grandfather, Ray Asbury. In addition to her mother, survivors include her aunt and loving guardian, Edith Asbury; one brother, Josh Short; one sister, Amber Short; grandmother, Gloria Chambers; special brothers and sisters, Charles Leftwich, Tristan Jewell, Raven Jewell, Chance Jewell, and Legion Asbury; great-grandmother, Juanita Asbury; great-aunt, Tammy Chambers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia. Interment will follow in the Ray Asbury Family and Friends Cemetery at Bishop, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Tristan Jewell, Raven Jewell, Chance Jewell, Legion Asbury, and Tristan Shinkle. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday.
