Delmar Street

Mr. Delmar McKinley Street, age 72, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Friday (May 13, 2016) at his home. Born March 21, 1944 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Rell and Callie Short Street. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of Rowe Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Memphis Street, Yeulis James “Jim” Street, and Buster Otis Street and six sisters, Nellie Helton, Dorothy Hill, Edith Baldridge, Dellie Cook, Oma Rowe, and Mollie Street. Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Anna June Shortridge Street of the home; three children, Scottie Street and wife, Michelle of Rowe, Michael Street and wife, Karen of Rowe, and Rebekah Mullins and husband, Daniel of Whitewood; six grandchildren, Megan Thomas and husband, Craig, Isaac Street and wife, Mallorie, Shea Lynn Street, Devin Mullins, Landon Mullins, and Brannon Mullins; three great-grandchildren, Autumn Street, Tayler Thomas, and Kara Thomas; two brothers, Dempsey Street of Rowe, and Lewis Street of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Dollie McGlothlin and Joyce Shortridge both of Rowe; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Brad Cook and Rev. Tim Lester officiating. Interment will follow in the Rell and Callie Street Cemetery at Rowe, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Michael Street, Daniel Mullins, Allen Street, Brian Street, Jerry Shortridge, and Chester Shortridge.
